Do you like spicy food? In particular, do you like Indian style food?
Some time ago I wrote an article about Recipe Apps for iPad. Those Apps covered mainly American traditional dishes and desserts.
On this post I am going to introduce you to Biryani recipes.
Biryani is a rice-based (usually basmati) made dish with spices and chicken, fish, eggs, beef or vegetables. In general, the rice is cooked separately from the sauce, meat or vegetables and they are combined or put together at a later stage.
101 Biryani Recipes
The App costs $0.99 and can be downloaded from the App Store. Check out this post If you need to refresh how to download and install iPad Apps.
Biryani Recipes is very intuitive and easy to use. The side menu lets you filter between all, vegetarian, non-vegetarian and sea food biryanies.
Viewing a recipe
Tap on any rectangle to view a recipe. In this example I’m opening Arusuvai Chicken Biryani.
For each recipe, there is a nice picture illustrating the dish with 2 tabs specifying the Ingredients and the Preparation steps.
Favorites and Search
You can add recipes to your favorites by tapping on the “Add a Favorite” button.
The Search menu lets you search recipes by name.
Summary
The App is well organized, has a nice layout, plenty of recipes and overall it is very easy to use.
It could use a few improvements though like being able to remove recipes from your favorites. Currently you can add but not remove recipes from this list. Another small issue is the search feature filters by recipe title, but it would be nice to be able to search by ingredients inside the recipes.
For $0.99 you get plenty of biryani recipes to try out and enjoy!
Check out this App and let me know how your dishes come out! :-)
