Do you travel often for business or for pleasure? Have you ever needed to access your home computer while away on business or on a vacation? Perhaps you were searching for a file, picture, or document. Perhaps you wanted to upload and backup some pictures from your trip.
Amazingly, you can control your home computer (PC or Mac) from your iPad! You can also see your computer screen, share files, access programs, or even browse the web of your home computer through your iPad.
It is easier than you think. You need a remote desktop software such as LogMeIn and you need to have both devices connected to the Internet.
Below is a guide to help get you started.
Downloading LogMeIn on your Computer
LogMeIn has a 30 day free trial (no credit card required) for the Pro version. You will need to create an account and install the LogMeIn software on your computer before you can access it from your iPad.
Follow this link if you would like to give it a try:

Remember your account information. You will need it for a later step described below.
Starting LogMeIn on Computer
After installing the LogMeIn software you can start it and turn it on. You will see an interface similar to this one (it will vary if it’s a PC or a Mac).
Let’s move on to the next step.
Downloading LogMeIn on iPad
On your iPad, LogMeIn can be downloaded for free from the App store. Follow How to download and install iPad Apps and search for the LogMeIn App.
Connecting to your Computer from iPad
Once you open the LogMeIn App you have to login with your LogMeIn account. Use the account you created previously.
Once you logged in to the App, you can tap on the computer you wish to connect to.
Most likely your computer is password protected, so you will have to enter your login information.
And voila! You are now controlling your computer from your iPad! Give it a try… You will see how cool this is!
