Most important life events or celebrations have something in common. They usually involve sending out invitations and keeping track of who is coming.
In the past, you needed to prepare paper invitations or cards, buy stamps and mail them, wait for a response and/or maybe follow-up with a phone call. In today’s digital world, this process can be easily simplified. The Paperless Post App on iPad lets you choose eCards for different types of events (birthday parties, Halloween, family holiday gatherings, etc) and track attendance of your guests.

There are cards for other occasions too, such as Thank You notes, birthday cards and Save The Dates.

Using Paperless Post

The App is free to download from the App store. Some designs are free while others have a cost. Once you download the App you will need to create a free account using an email address and password. If you have a Facebook login you can use this instead.

Birthday Card Example

In this case, I’ll walk you through an example by creating a birthday card invitation.

Choose a Design

From the App Home page, tap on “Birthday invitations”.

Swipe up or down and choose a design of your liking by tapping on it.
Note: Below each design you can see the cost (FREE or amount of coins).

Once you select a design, you can start customizing it by choosing from among different options. See bottom squares.

When you are ready to enter the event details, tap on “Design”.

Enter Event Details

The invitation comes with a pre-determined text already entered for you but this can be changed to suit your needs. The Font format, typeface and color can be quickly customized from a vast array of options.

When you are done entering details, tap next.

Select Options

On this screen you can customize whether your guests can see who else is attending the event. You can also enable your guests to publish/share pictures and/or make comments on the invitation.

Add Guests

The final step is to add the email addresses of your guests. Addresses can be entered manually or selected from your iPad address book.

When you are done entering your guests’ emails, you can tap on Send.

Your guests will receive an email with your customized card.
