Baby Bedtime Music

Some of my friends recently became parents. With all the joy and happiness that being a new parent means, there are not surprisingly a few complaints about the disrupted and poor nights of sleep. Baby has certainly changed their lives for the better but baby’s sleep is usually an issue.

Luckily there are plenty of Baby Apps for iPad. For this post I will be discussing 3 free lullaby Apps. The Apps offer in-app purchases or can be upgraded to the full version with more melodies and no ads.

Sleepy Sounds

Sleepy Sounds lets you play lullabies, white noise, nature sounds or even your own music to help your baby fall asleep. You can set up a timer or let the music play indefinitely.

While the music is being played, the app displays stars falling through the screen with a changing background colour.

Baby’s Music Box

Baby’s Music Box displays puppets floating in space while lullabies and bedtime melodies are being played.

To start the lullabies, you pull a “string” from the puppet and the music plays for up to 10 minutes. Tapping on the screen you can select different puppets and tunes. Paid melodies are marked with a $ sign.
Tapping the telescope changes the sky pattern.

My First Lullaby

My First Lullaby plays different melodies while displaying a soothing animation of a child sleeping on a rocking moon. The free version comes with only 3 songs and lets you play tunes up to 2 minutes.

The full version is available from the App Store for $2.99. The App has a fade option that slowly lowers the volume of the song over time to help your baby fall asleep. Hmmm… I’m yawning already…
