iPad Address Book

It is time to discuss about the iPad Address Book. The iOS App, better known as Contacts lets you add, edit and delete contacts from your address book and share contacts among iOS devices (provided that iCloud is enabled).

Contacts is integrated with other Apps on iPad. This means that from the Contacts App you can share a contact with another person, send an email message or even FaceTime with this person.


Applicable to:
iPad versions: iPad 2, iPad Air, iPad PRO, iPad mini
iOS versions: iOS 5, iOS 6 and up

Today I will be discussing how to add, edit and delete contacts.

iPad Address Book Tutorial – How to open, add, edit and delete contacts

Opening Contacts

Tap on the Contacts icon to open Contacts.

Note: You may want to rotate the iPad so that you see the address book in landscape mode.

Adding a new contact

Tap on the plus button to add a new contact.

A blank contact page appears. Here you can fill in all the contact’s information, I.e., first and last name, company name, mobile phone, home phone, email address, etc.

Complete all the information and then tap on Done.

The contact will be stored on your address book.


Editing a contact

To edit a contact, tap on the Edit button.

The information of the contact is displayed.

Edit any field as required and when you are finished tap on Done.

Deleting a contact

To delete a contact, select the contact you want to delete and tap on the Edit button.

The information of the contact is displayed. Scroll all the way down and tap on Delete Contact.

A confirmation dialog box appears.

Tap on Delete to confirm. The contact is deleted from your address book.


Your paper Calendar and Address Book can be easily replaced with the Contacts, Calendar and Reminders Apps on your iPad.
